expertise for the independent author

a short history of Wheredepony Press

About a year ago, a close friend told me he had written a really good book and was interested in “getting it published.” Being a salesman, he also mentioned that he knew he had a good product and could sell the book himself because he believed in it. On top of that, he had done a bit of research on getting a book published and knew he didn’t want to waste a bunch of time waiting around on the traditional route.

Intrigued, I offered to help in any way I could and that’s how Wheredepony Press was born. Once we had Requiem for a Redneck out, other people approached us wanting help with their books.

Congratulations!

a mission statement

I believe that everyone has creative impulses and that everyone is good at something. Creativity isn’t limited to making music, writing poems, or painting pictures. Creativity shows up in a wonderful meal, a beautiful vegetable garden, a comfortable room that exudes the personality of the person who lives there. Some people dress well; others turn out amazing quilts.

I also believe that people’s artistic forays deserve to be nurtured, honored and rewarded. That’s why we at Wheredepony Press believe that anyone who has labored and sweated over a book deserves an opportunity to turn that manuscript into an actual book.
